ONE. Replacement Valve Gland Packing

If the old Gland Packing is not cleaned cleanly, it will also affect the sealing effect of the new Gland Packing after installation.

TWO. How to install Gland Packing
Cut off the appropriate length, and cut the Gland Packing head/tail diagonally at 45° into a single circle. Press the cut forming rings into the sealing cavity in turn, and the joints of the two Gland Packing ring cuts are staggered by 180° until the sealing cavity is filled with Gland Packing, and the gland is tightened. This method can make all the Gland Packing very evenly stressed, but this way of replacing the Gland Packing must first measure the length of the required Gland Packing and cut them one by one. Due to the measurement and cutting errors, the length of the Gland Packing is different during installation. It is suitable to cause Gland Packing failure or Gland Packing waste.
Cut one end of the Gland Packing with an acute angle, place it at the bottom of the valve stem sealing cavity, and then wrap it on the valve stem like a compression spring, and then cut an acute angle interface at the other end, and the two interfaces are staggered by 90° to avoid Gland Packing causes valve leakage due to uneven force, and the production quality of the acute angle at both ends of Gland Packing will directly affect the use effect of Gland Packing.
No matter what installation method is used, the valve stem must be cleaned, polished and smoothed, and a layer of grease is applied to the valve stem and the wall of the Gland Packing cavity. It is best to soak the Gland Packing with lubricating oil. Ensure its lubricity.
Installation points of Gland Packing packing seal:
1. Before installation, ensure that the sealing chamber is clean, and ensure that the beating and movement of the shaft or sleeve are within the tolerance range.
2. Use the formula L=(shaft diameter d+Gland Packing width s)*1.07*π to calculate the length of Gland Packing, and cut the two ends at a 45-degree angle.
3. Gland Packing should be installed one by one. Make sure that the previous Gland Packing is installed flat and properly pressed before installing the next one. When installing the next layer, ensure that the cut of the previous layer of Gland Packing is staggered by 90 degrees.
4. After all the installation is completed, adjust the pressing force of the gland, run for 15-30 minutes, and adjust the pressing force of the gland again to ensure that the leakage per minute is 18-30 drops.
